We held our Middle East workshop—Islam and Modernity-- on April 8, 2006, at the Kervorkian Center, NYU. The document available here is the workshop handout. It contains the workshop program, introductions to the speakers with their bibliographical suggestions, additional bibliographical suggestions from Hill Center staff, and curricular suggestions for teaching about the architect Hassan Fathy and his work at New Gourna.
